A�While speaking in an exclusive interview with PUNCH’s Sunday Scoop, Mike Abdul, a member of the popular gospel music group, Midnight Crew, reacted to people’s assumptions and claims that the music group no longer exists.
He said:A�a�?The fact that an individual needs to find his or her own expression doesna��t mean a group is dead. I think it is a misconception. The members of Midnight Crew are still together. At the last three editions of The Experience concert, we performed as a group.

Speaking further on why music groups dona��t last in Nigeria, Abdul said:A�a�?Even solo artistes dona��t last for more than 10 years. The problem is not about being in a group, it has to do with the music business. I tell people not to put pressure on artistes. If an artistea��s career doesna��t last for more than five years, do not crucify him or her.
“A musician doesna��t need to be active forever. If you do five years as an artiste and you are getting saturated, what stops you from taking a break? You can always come back after the break. The fact that some people are still relevant for 20 years doesna��t mean everyone has such grace.a�?
